Abstract	"I was hiking outside Derge, the town in Eastern Tibet where I have been going the past two summers, and saw these rocks, which looked just like Chinese literati paintings. I started thinking about how we talk about art imitating life, but it often seems to me that it is the other way around: we imitate art in our lives. Anyway, I wrote this little piece and made a book about the themes of reflection, art, and political reality."--Artist's statement on book vendor's website, viewed 6/6/08.
