1999
fourteen
artists
were
invited
to
make
site-specific
works
for
Footfalls
, an
annual
exhibition
in
Greenport
,
Long
Island
,
New
York
. The
site
for
my
project
is
at the
end
of
Fourth
Street
in
Greenport
,
where
the
village
placed
five
boulders
to
prevent
cars
from
driving
into the
harbor
.
Several
shadows
moving
across
the
stone
between
7:00
a.m
. and
5:00
p.m
. were
painted
during
the
week
of the
summer
solstice
in
June
. The
fixed
paint
and the
moving
shadows
were then
photographed
throughout
the
day
to
make
this
