GENERAL INFORMATION LECTURES: Lectures on Anatomy, Design, Color. Composition and the other art subjects and general talks pertaining to the life and work of artists and craftsmen are given by members of the Faculty and by invited speakers. Each year the students have the privilege of hearing talks by a number of distinguished persons and of attending in the city many splendid exhibitions, musical and dramatic performances. LOS ANGELES MUSEUM: Students are granted special privileges at the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science, and Art of which the Otis Art Institute is a department. Students are invited to make the greatest possible use of the Museum's permanent collection of Art. History and Science and to visit the changing exhibitions of painting and sculpture. An exhibition of work of the students of Otis Art Institute is held annually in the main gallery of the Museum. SUMMER TERM: The summer session is so organized that during that term students are able to work intensively for a period of six weeks. The teaching staff and schedule of classes are much the same as during the other three terms. TEACHER TRAINING: Otis Art Institute does not maintain a separate department for teacher training, but it provides almost all of the elements of study which are required of teachers and supervisors of art in high schools. Work at this institution completed according to the standards of work established by the California State Board of Education is accepted by the Board toward the special credential of the Arts Type. CHANGES: The school reserves the right to make changes in the schedule of classes. CALENDAR: The school is in session the entire year except for vacation periods between terms. Each of the terms is of twelve weeks' duration, except the summer term, which is six weeks. Any three terms constitutes a year's work in the school. Each year the school terms begin as follows, unless otherwise announced.
