Description	Explores aesthetic, historical, and sociocultural aspects of socially engaged art. Site visits focus on organizations and public art institutions in L.A. Lectures, discussions, and readings delve into the theoretical exploration and practical application of social practices.Required for Community Arts Engagement minors. Some of the publicly engaged groups we will visit this semester include Center for the Study of Political Graphics, Watts Towers Arts Center, Watts House Project, Hammer Museum, LACMA, Womens Center for Creative Work, One Archives, Kchung Radio, and Self Help Graphics.
