her
own
experience
with
pain
and
control
(the
artist
is
confined
to a
wheelchair)
,
Liz
Young’s
large
single
installation
piece
developed
a
complex
narrative
that
took
the
viewer
through
various
"
stations
"
where
individual
sculptures
(assemblages
,
bronze
castings)
evoked
bodily
constraint
and
spiritual
release
. The "
journey
"
took
place
underneath
an
enormous
tent
situated
above
a
bed
of
soil
that
over
the
course
of the
exhibition
sprouted
into a
small
field
of
wheat
. The
artist
presented
a
performance
piece
on
opening
night
.
