Description	Apfelbaum will design a new site-specific carpet installation, and will work with artisan weavers in Oaxaca, Mexico to produce four 13 x 25 foot large rugs. The design is inspired by a 700 square foot mosaic Apfelbaum encountered in Otranto, Italy that explores creation mythologies; as well as LA's rich history in New Age spirituality, and Alejandro Jodorowsky's film Holy Mountain. In addition to the new floor pieces, the exhibition will also include ceramic and wooden face sculptures produced between 1987 and 2011, many of which have never before been exhibited. Visitors will be invited to take their shoes off and spend time in the installation.
