Description	The evening is in conjunction with the exhibition On Wanting to Grow Horns: the Little Theater of Tom Knechtel. The artist will be present to provide an informal introduction. Amy Gerstler’s poem “On Wanting to Grow Horns,” from which the exhibition gets part of it’s title, is dedicated to Tom Knechtel and is included in the exhibition catalogue. Benjamin Weissman’s prose piece “Penises and Geniuses” is also included in the catalogue. Both writers will be reading selections from their work.
Notes	A writer of poetry, fiction and journalism, Amy Gerstler lives in Los Angeles and teaches at Art Center College of Design and at the Writing Seminars program at Bennington College in Vermont. She is the author of seven books of poetry, the latest of which is Medicine (2000). A writer and artist also living in Los Angeles, Benjamin Weissman teaches writing and is a Graduate Advisor in the Department of Fine Art at Cal Arts and Art Center College of Design. He is the author of a book of short fiction titled Dear Dead Person (1994) and has exhibited paintings and drawings at Galerie Krinzinger in Vienna and at Christopher Grimes Gallery in Santa Monica. Both Amy Gerstler and Benjamin Weissman have taught writing courses at Otis in the past.
