created
an
environment
called
Heavy
Roofed
Building
, a
structure
of
concrete
blocks
with a
small
chamber
at the
base
. The
effect
on the
viewer
was of
oppressive
mass
.
Recent
work
of
Aycock
was
documented
in
photographs
and
drawings
.
Jane
Reynolds
created
a
site-specific
analysis
of the
gallery
space
by
removing
a
single
nine
inch
floor
tile
and
cutting
a
corresponding
hole
through
the
concrete
floor
. The
pure
"
art
"
space
of the
empty
gallery
contrasted
with a
grisly
boiler
room
seen
and
heard
through
the
hole
.
