Daniel Wheeler was born in New Haven, Connecticut in 1961 and has lived in Los Angeles since 1984 when he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture from Brown University. In 2001, he received a City of Los Angeles Visual Arts Award (COLA Grant) and his work has been critically acclaimed in many periodicals including the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, and Sculpture Magazine. His artwork resides in many prestigious public collections on the West Coast including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art; The Henry Art Gallery, Seattle; Laguna Art Museum; and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art.
