A New Building Furthers the Program Enlarged and finer facilities offer new possibilities for developĀment, and by the same token, impose greater responsibilities. Wiili the completion of the new art gallery, studio and library building, the Institute's art program enters a phase of further growth. Given the importance of research and reference, the necessity of training aids, the heart of any educational program is the library. In its new quarters, the Institute's library will be able to expand its growing collection of books, slides and picture files, in order to become, as planned, the most complete art and design library under one roof in the region, serving not only as a center of study for the Institute but also becoming available to all qualified persons. New studios will afford expansion and provide much needed work space for increased enrollment. The galleries will complement and enhance the Institute's art program by presentations of live art. At the same time, and of equal importance, such presentations, in a centrally located place, will serve the community as a whole. These exhibitions will constitute another link in the already fine series of presentations offered by museums and galleries in the region, with which the Institute intends to cooperate fully, so that there may be a well balanced exhibition program of community-wide interest.
